In recent years, Mackintosh Academy has invested in improving and expanding our campus facilities to support and enhance our mission of serving the keen minds of gifted students. Thanks to the generosity of our community, our students have access to amazing new spaces that inspire learning, innovation, and creativity. 

We inaugurated the new facilities in the first phase of our multi year expansion project in fall 2021. This expansion included the addition of a theater space, creative arts and design studio, office, and a kitchenette. These additions allowed us to fully integrate the arts, which are central to the International Baccalaureate curriculum at Mackintosh. Our community is taking full advantage of this upgrade that allows them to fully express their creativity through visual and performing arts.

Our second expansion project was completed in 2023. This project expanded our science and innovation facilities to enhance the STEM experience at Mackintosh, and created flexible classroom spaces to better serve our fifth through eighth grade students. We added a design and technology lab, spaces for collaborative work, and a media center that is currently used as the World Languages classroom. This expansion has allowed students to delve more deeply into scientific inquiry and explore cutting-edge design technology.

In the summer of 2024, we completed a playground upgrade, incorporating natural elements and unique features. The playground encourages imaginative play, physical activity, and a connection to nature. From the boulder scramble to the embankment slide and the loose parts play area, the playground offers endless opportunities for exploration and discovery.
